“Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth. And his disciples asked Him; saying, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him” (John 9:1-3).
How many times have we asked the question, “Why?” Why did my life take an awful turn? Why do I deserve to be sick or lonely? Why do I feel like the weight of the world is on my shoulders?
Sometimes we point the finger at someone else for causing discomfort in our lives, and at other times we blame ourselves for the unwise choices we’ve made. But, according to God, not every hardship, loss, or painful moment is the direct result of someone’s sin, but an opportunity for Him to draw the sick and hurting to him. In (Roman 3:11), God explains that no one comes to him through their own volition.
Don’t be discouraged in the time of trouble. Trust that all things work together for good to those who love Him (Romans 8:28).
If you are struggling or hurting today because life has taken an unexpected turn, stop focusing on the problem and look to the One above who can change your situation in a minute.
