“If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small.”
–Proverbs 24:10 NKJV
Adversity – we all face it from time to time throughout life. Sometimes we allow adversity to tear us down to the point where we fail to bounce back. At other times, we move too quickly to understand the next step in our journey. Proverbs 24:10 says that if you give up in the day of adversity, your power to resist strain or stress is weak.
So, what is the solution to climbing out of the pit of self-pity, depression, and pain?( Isaiah 40:31) says, “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.” Consult the Lord, so that he gives you clarity on the situation. Moreover, in (2 Corinthians 12:9) Paul says, “And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”” He has everything that we need, so it is important to cling to His wisdom. Finally, in Psalms 46, David says, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. He will rescue you, but first you must trust that he is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that you could ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).
If you are feeling very little strength today, and are on the verge of giving up because adversity has taken its toll, quickly cast all of your cares upon the Lord. He will hear you and give you the strength and power you need to stand upright and walk out of your adverse situation.
