2 Timothy 2: 5-7 (NKJV)
“And also if anyone competes in athletics, he is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules. The hardworking farmer must be first to partake of the crops. Consider what I say, and may the Lord give you understanding in all things.”
While competing in this game called life, you can only win by playing by the rules. Often it seems as if the wicked man thrives, while the upstanding guy stumbles, but don’t be dismayed (Psalms 37:1).Take heart because God has not forgotten about his faithful servants. Our ultimate reward is not in this life, but in heaven. (Psalm 37:9) explains that the wicked will be forgotten and the righteous will be written in the lamb’s book of life. Now, you may ask, “What about receiving my blessings now?” Well here’s your answer: The diligent produces a product of profit. What do I mean by this? As you work harder at perfecting your game along with honor and integrity, you will begin to reap the rewards. Just as the farmer is first to partake of what he has sown, his diligence will not only feed him first, but will feed a multitude of others as well. (Proverbs 10:4) says, “He who has a slack hand becomes poor, But the hand of the diligent makes rich. Are you getting this? The word of God is awesome! As the apostle Paul says in (2 Timothy 2:7), “Consider what I say, and may the Lord give you understanding in all things.”
Lord I know that my blessings are on the way. Allow me to not be a spectator, but a go-getter, working diligently in all that I do, so that my reward is not only profitable for me, but also for a multitude.
